From a Prout handout

"Humanity and the earth are being destroyed by exploitation. The dominant message conveyed through media and our educational system is selfish and competitive: "I win, you lose," or more correctly, "I win, and it doesn't matter to me what happens to you." This materialistic attitude is serious business.

"We need a new cooperative paradigm that promotes kindness, honesty, trust and teamwork. We need to overcome our fears - of failure, of looking bad, of getting hurt. And in the process we need to lighten up, have fun, and realize that the best things in life are not for sale, that love is the strongest force of all.

"These games and initiative challenges are cooperative, not competitive and involve creative problem solving and playing. The purpose is for the group to attempt the impossible, do their best and feel good about their efforts and their successes. Based on New Games, Project Adventure, Prout, group dynamics and ancient yoga, this workshop will be full of laughter, surprises and challenges."

From a introductory handout for an innovative presentation of Prout recently given in a 3-hour workshop on cooperative games, teamwork and meditation for 65 engineering students at the Univesidade Federal de Ouro Preto, Brazil.
